ASRC Federal - Vistronix is currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer for a role on one of our subcontracts.  This full time position affords the successful candidate the opportunity to work in an engaging, high-tech development environment, working with an excellent team and customer base. 


Position requires a developer with the ability to work full-stack development. The candidate will be part of a small, end-to-end application development team that builds the UI, analytics, business rules, data ingest, processing, and storage, and high-to-low operations to automate workflow for mission tradecraft.  Each developer has a main area of responsibility in the stack (i.e. UI or rules or backend) while also being a utility player to provide backup across the team. Near-term development efforts include maturing the prototype features to include scalable features such as accommodating teams and extending the usability of new tradecraft through automating workflows and rule application. Development tasks can include refactoring to achieve scalability, ElasticSearch cluster configuration, batch and streaming analytics development, enrichment and correlation, backend system-to-system communications development, business logic rules design, and UI development.



Candidate must meet the following labor category qualifications:

  • Candidates shall have at least eighteen (18) years of general experience in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, including at least five (5) years of experience in software-intensive projects and programs for government or industry customers. Additionally, at least five (5) years of the experience must have been as a software engineer supporting software architecture development, requirement analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and existing systems).
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, may be substituted for four (4) years of general experience. A master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, may be substituted for an additional two (2) years of general experience.
  • Candidate shall have an understanding of how UIS code works and how analysts use UIS.  Knowledge of XML structure, XML parsers, SQL and Perl.  Development skills in Java threading/thread pooling, RMI, character set encoding, swing, JDBC, JMS, J2EE, Enterprise Java Beans, Web Logic, Servlets, and JSP.

Job Specific Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong Java and JAVASCRIPT skills are required
  • Experience with business logic rules and workflow automation techniques
  • Experience with RESTful services, SpringBoot, SprintData and jQuery
  • Experience with MONGO or similar noSQL database
  • Experience with customer GHOSTMACHINE development environment
  • Experience with development on Linux using Eclipse or similar IDE
  • Experience managing code with configuration management tools and processes
  • Familiarity with big data analytics using Lambda architecture and products such as Hadoop/Spark
  • Familiarity with customer corporate tools such as XKS, DX, UTT, Reference Data Sets
  • Familiarity with customer data ingest, parsing, and correlation
  • Familiarity with user experience design
  • Familiarity with Agile development using the Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence)

This position requires an active Security Clearance.


Positions require a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph.  Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
