ASRC Federal - Vistronix is currently seeking an experienced Systems Engineer for a role on one of our subcontracts.  This full time position affords the successful candidate the opportunity to work in an engaging, high-tech development environment, working with an excellent team and customer base. 

Responsibilities

The project provides operations and engineering services, and software development related to the Life Cycle Support necessary to support a segment of intelligence operations. Program is seeking a Systems Engineer to perform the following tasks in a "fast paced environment":

  • Life Cycle Support of a software & Red Hat Linux system environment.
  • Planning, development and coordination of the internal automated testing framework.
  • Integration of hardware/software solutions into the existing auto test framework.
  • Development and updating of project documentation.
  • Perform Testing/Troubleshooting assignments.
  • Generate CONOPS and Data Flow Documentation.
  • Analyze wireless signals to refine and scope customer requirements, and test and integration plans.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 13 years experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline, to include:
    • At least 5 years experience in planning, designing, and analyzing processing, and storage and retrieval systems, on mid to large scale integration programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in analytical needs assessment.
  • Experience in requirements analysis and definition.
  • Experience in planning, designing, analyzing, and implementing mid to large scale integration programs.
  • Experience with top-level functional design, project management, and life-cycle cost analysis

Job Specific Requirements:

  • Experience designing solutions for cellular technologies
  • Able to function within a large development team, interfacing; creating schedules, briefings, and status reports
  • Experience in defining/writing/analyzing system requirements
  • Experience in formulating and writing system documents, to include CONOPS, data flows, integration, SSP contributions, trade/gap analysis, and user guides 
  • Experience in all areas of integration (designing, analyzing, and implementing)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills - Able to identify and anticipate needs of user community, development staff, and integrated applications
  • Experience with RedHat Linux
  • Experience in telecommunications networks & standards.  Comfortable with using inspections tools such as Wireshark and/or DVT/PAKETSWING tools.

Job Specific Desired Skills:

  • Experience with scripting (bash, perl, python, ...)
  • Experience with modern digital/optical telecommunications systems, to include Bell, CEPT, or SDH/PDH digital communications signals
  • Experience in modern digital telecommunications systems and protocols, to include: Optical Transport Network (OTN) Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), Synchronous Optical Networks (SONET), SDH and PDH, LAN/WAN Networks, IP Networks, and ATM switches.
  • Experience with protocols as SCTP, MLPPP, VCAT, OTN, VLAN, MPLS, and VOIP protocols.
  • Experience in studying, designing, developing, exploiting, and/or testing components or systems that modulate or demodulate mobile cellular/personal communications systems.

This position requires an active Security Clearance. 

 

Positions require a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph.  Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
