ASRC Federal - Vistronix is currently seeking an experienced Software Systems Engineer for a role on one of our subcontracts.  This full time position affords the successful candidate the opportunity to work in an engaging, high-tech development environment, working with an excellent team and customer base. 



Develop and maintain Linux-based SDR system framework and related development tools in a variety of languages and frameworks.




  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering (Electrical, Electronic or Computer) or 4 to 9 years applicable systems engineering experience.
  • C++ development experience
  • XML/XSD experience
  • Linux/Unix experience
  • Scripting language experience such as Python or Perl
  • Multi-threaded software development experience
  • Direct experience using CM tools such as Subversion/Trac or Git
  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and/or protocol processing in software
  • Direct experience in the development of collection systems and/or related components within the IC (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles (preferred)
  • Direct development experience with SOA/middleware technologies such as ICE, CORBA, ESB, SOAP (preferred)
  • Direct development experience with Inter-process communication (IPC) mechanisms (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of processing frameworks such as XMidas , SCA, GNURadio, etc. (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of commercial wireless standards (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of geolocation techniques such as TDOA, FDOA, etc. and services (preferred)

Job Specific:

  • Experience with REDHAWK SDR Framework


  • Experience with Python, C++ required (optionally Java/JavaScript)


  • Experience with Google Protocol Buffers


  • Experience with RPC Mechanisms (Redis, GRPC, etc.) and Client/Server models


  • Experience with BASH, CentOS6 and 7, AutoTools build environment, and RPM packaging


  • Comfortable with Git and GitLab CI

 This position requires an active Security Clearance.


Positions require a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph.  Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
