ASRC Federal - Vistronix is currently seeking an experienced System Administrator for a role on one of our subcontracts.  This full time position affords the successful candidate the opportunity to work in an engaging, high-tech development environment, working with an excellent team and customer base. 



Windows system administrator to provide direct support for customer . The selected candidate will interface with the customer and engineering team on a daily basis to complete assigned tasks and provide status on tasking progress. Normal tasking includes, but is not limited to:

  • Create/update user accounts as needed
  • Complete virus scans and updates
  • Maintain backup of Windows file servers and configurations of switches
  • Keep firmware, network diagrams, and software repositories updated
  • Work with ISSO/ISSE to keep SSP up to date
  • Update IAVAs
  • Understanding of PKI


  • Five (5) years system administration experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity within the Federal Government is required. 
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.  Five (5) years of additional system administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

The System Administrator shall be able to perform the following indicated tasks:

  • Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc
  • Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems
  • Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
  • Optimizes system operations and resources utilization, and performs system capacity analysis and planning
  • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Manages the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
  • Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems.
  • Provides assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.

Job Specific Required Skills:

  • At least 5 years system administration experience including application administration.
  • Familiarity with installing, configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting common GOTS and COTS software.
  • At least 5 years troubleshooting software installations and operations.
  • Fundamental understanding of computer networks and be able to identify, troubleshoot, and document network connectivity and performance issues.
  • At least 5 years analyzing and correcting data flow issues within systems.
  • Experience in understanding network diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot dataflow and computer system related issues.
  • Willing to perform shift work.

Skills/Domain Knowledge Required:

  • System administration experience with Windows operating systems

This position requires an active Security Clearance.


Positions require a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph.  Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
