Are you a skilled SQL Database Administrator looking for a new career challenge?  If so, Vistronix may have your next ideal opportunity with our team in Arlington, VA.  Vistronix is seeking a DBA to join our team.  As a member of the team, you will work with other IT professionals providing DBA and specialized production support for a centralized software testing environment.  You will collaborate with Software Testers, Developers, and Systems Administrators to enable robust testing of applications in a virtualized environment.

Responsibilities

 

  • Database administration on Microsoft SQL servers which is crucial for this role.
  • Install database scripts and software applications on both database and web application servers
  • Perform analyzing and defining database and security requirements
  • Develop database queries and apply patches in test and patch environment
  • Coordinate with Testers and Test Leads for backup, rollback and recovery plans
  • Configure, maintain, and support production databases in an enterprise operations environment per application instructions or requirements
  • Interface with Data Engineer and Data Administration Group and various software developers to resolve daily database issues
  • Troubleshoot issues stemming from a wide range of errors including problematic database scripts, IIS configuration, Windows application errors, etc.

 

Qualifications

 

 

  • Four year technical degree such as Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering or a related field highly desired
  • Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience withSQL databases
  • Experience in MSSQL 2000, 2005, 2008R2 and Windows Server 2003 and 2008
  • Basic understanding of and experience working with SDLC process
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas verbally and in a written format
  • Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a Government Clearance.
  • US. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED

Desired:

  • SQL certifications (may count towards some experience)
