ASRC Federal - Vistronix is currently seeking an experienced Network Systems Engineer for a role on one of our subcontracts.  This full time position affords the successful candidate the opportunity to work in an engaging, high-tech development environment, working with an excellent team and customer base. 


  • The selected candidate will provide network engineering support to the contract focusing on SIGINT systems interconnectivity.
  • Experience with switches, routers, encryption devices, copper and fiber connectivity and protocols is a MUST.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Cisco and Juniper devices is required, as is some knowledge of file storage applications in native and virtual environments.
  • Primary responsibilities will include design, integration, test, operations, and maintenance of connecting networks.
  • LINUX experience is highly desired. 


  • A minimum of 3 years experience in network design or network security.

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in resolving complex network problems, and operating network analyzers, Wide Area Network (WAN) test equipment, and network simulators.

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in implementing Gigabit Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, terminal servers, and Network Time Protocol (NTP) servers.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience performing network security architecture, design, and integration on UNIX, Windows, Linux, or other Operating System (OS) configurations.
  • A Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification is highly desirable and can substitute for 1 year experience.

  • Individual shall have a minimum of 2 years experience in modern digital telecommunications systems, and protocols to include: Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), Synchronous Optical Networks (SONET), Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) and Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy (PDH), LAN/WAN Networks, IP Networks, and ATM switches.

  • The individual shall have experience in the design or implementation of communication networks with these technologies.

  • Individual shall have a minimum of 1 year experience with IP, Serial, and ATM encryption devices.

Job Specific Requirements:

  • The candidate should have a BS degree in a technical field.
  • Strong LINUX experience is required.
  • A proactive attitude, strong customer service skills, and the ability to integrate into an existing technical team comprised of contractors and government customers are required.

This position requires an active Security Clearance.


Positions require a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph.  Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
