ASRC Federal - Vistronix is currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer for a role on one of our subcontracts.  This full time position affords the successful candidate the opportunity to work in an engaging, high-tech development environment, working with an excellent team and customer base. 

Responsibilities

 Individual will be working with a team to help automate a series of capabilities designed to help solve common problems arising from various analysts offices. Primary focus will be on prototype development. The individual will also work directly with customers to gather requirements and feedback.

Qualifications

Candidate must meet the following labor category qualifications:

  • Candidates shall have at least eighteen (18) years of general experience in computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, including at least five (5) years of experience in software-intensive projects and programs for government or industry customers. Additionally, at least five (5) years of the experience must have been as a software engineer supporting software architecture development, requirement analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and existing systems).
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, may be substituted for four (4) years of general experience. A master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline, may be substituted for an additional two (2) years of general experience.
  • Candidate shall have an understanding of how UIS code works and how analysts use UIS.  Knowledge of XML structure, XML parsers, SQL and Perl.  Development skills in Java threading/thread pooling, RMI, character set encoding, swing, JDBC, JMS, J2EE, Enterprise Java Beans, Web Logic, Servlets, and JSP.

Job Specific:

  • Working knowledge of Python, NodeJS or Java w/ the ability to learn all of them
  • Experience with and writing and interacting with web services
  • Working knowledge of developing within a Unix environment (with a desktop and from the command line)
  • Demonstrated ability to independently work through complex solution
  • Understanding of customer’s corporate systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with streaming platforms (Storm, Spark, NiFi, Heron) is a plus
  • Familiarity with Docker is a plus

This position requires an active Security Clearance.

 

Positions require a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph.  Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
