ASRC Federal - Vistronix is currently seeking an experienced System Administrator for a role on one of our subcontracts.  This full time position affords the successful candidate the opportunity to work in an engaging, high-tech development environment, working with an excellent team and customer base. 



The System Administrator shall have the following labor category qualifications:

  • Fifteen (15) years experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated experience is required for the domain(s) unless otherwise specified in the description field.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. 

  • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems. 

  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. 
  • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems.

  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. 

  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. 

  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. 

  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning. 

  • Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.

  • Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems. 

  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance. 

  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback to management and internal customers for escalated tickets. 

  • Support the design of systems, architecture and associated hardware. 

  • Possess a working knowledge and understanding of system administration interdependencies as part of the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). 

  • Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration.  

Job Specific Requirements:

  • Experienced Windows SA to help design, build, and support the future architecture for the Cryptologic Physical Product Modernization effort.
  • The SA will need to perform research, analysis, and contribute to the evaluation and selection of infrastructure solutions.  
  • The SA will also have to perform the day-to-day duties involving trouble-shooting, patching, and monitoring of the existing architecture.
  • Experience with vCloudDirector and Linux is important and preference will be given to those candidates.
  • Other responsibilities include support of modernization efforts as the customer drives toward a Landlord-Tenant type environment.  The customer is doing a lot of prototyping and the need to be flexible, dynamic, and a team player is high.
  • The willingness to participate in future architecture decisions would also be great;  again, the need to be collaborative, flexible, and open.

This position requires an active Security Clearance.


Positions require a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph.  Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
